The Graduate School of Political Science offers three programs in political science, local government and international politics. Political studies have an increasingly important role to play in a world characterized by the competing forces of diversification and standardization at the global and domestic levels, as well as centralization and decentralization. The Graduate School of Political Studies has a longstanding commitment to exploring cutting-edge theoretical insights predicated on conventional theory and knowledge from the social science disciplines while utilizing modern analytical methodologies from fields such as the behavioral sciences. Based on an interdisciplinary approach combining education and research into complex political behaviors and phenomena, the School strives to cultivate the key skills and qualities of sound judgment and intellectual prowess needed for decision-making and leadership roles.
