To international students who wish to enter Tokai University

All undergraduate courses at Tokai University are conducted in Japanese. (There is no course taught in English)
If you do not have a sufficient Japanese skill, please start from the Japanese Language Course for International Students.

The International Student Entrance Examinations are not held for Course of Aviation, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, School of Engineering and Faculty of Medicine, School of Medicine.

Entrance Examination for International Students (Spring Semester-First Term)

Application qualifications

Foreign nationals to whom any of the conditions below applies.

  1. Persons who have completed 12 years of formal education based on a normal curriculum (or who are expected to complete it) in a foreign country, or persons recognized by Tokai University as having equivalent or greater academic abilities.
  2. Persons equivalent to those who have completed a 12-year course of study through formal education in a foreign country (or persons to whom this is expected to apply).
  3. Persons who have completed a 12-year course of study at a school for foreigners that has been accredited by an international accrediting body (WASC, ACSI or ECIS), or persons expected to complete one.
  4. Persons who have completed the equivalent of Japanese elementary school or junior high school education outside of Japan, who have attended a total of 3 years or less of Japanese elementary or secondary schools in Japan, and who have completed their high school or secondary school education in Japan, and are expected to graduate in March 2018.
  5. Those who reach the equivalent age and those who meet or exceed the academic requirements stated above upon an approval by Tokai University.

Method A (Japan residents and residents of foreign countries)
  1. Screening through documents specified by Tokai University
  2. The Examination for Japanese University Admission
  3. Interview
Method B (residents of foreign countries)
  1. Screening through documents designated by Tokai University
  2. The Examination for Japanese University Admission (In countries where the Examination for Japanese University Admission cannot be taken, applicants may use the Japanese Language Proficiency Test or the Test of Practical Japanese.)
  3. Three letters of recommendation

The application must reach the university between Friday, Sept. 1 and Friday, Sept. 22, 2017.
