I want to study at Tokai University. What do I need to do?

First of all, you need to have good Japanese language skills because nearly all of the classes and lectures at our undergraduate and graduate schools are conducted in Japanese. Are there any courses delivered entirely in English?

Yes. The following courses are delivered in English:

  • Doctoral Program in Science and Technology at the Graduate School of Science and Technology
  • Master's Program at the Graduate School of Engineering (Note: some courses delivered in Japanese)
How do I enroll in a program delivered in English? What level of English is required?

I want to study at a Tokai University graduate school. Can you find me a supervisor?

The first step is to look in the Faculty Directory. If you cannot find a suitable supervisor there, send us an inquiry via the Contact Us page.

Do you accept international exchange students with scholarships from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology?

Yes we do. You will need to apply at the nearest Japanese embassy or consulate in your home country.

I have successfully passed the first stage screening for the Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship program, and now I need a provisional written offer from Tokai University. What should I do?

How much are the fees at Tokai University?

Do you offer scholarships for international students?

Tokai University has a number of scholarship programs for international students. Note that you can only apply for a scholarship after you have been accepted into a course. For details, go to the Financial Aid page.

How do I apply to be a visiting researcher at Tokai University?

Can I visit a Tokai University campus?

Certainly. You will need to make an appointment via the form on the Contact Us page, stating your name and title, the number of people in your group, your preferred time and date, and the reason for your visit. You will then be contacted by a staff member from the appropriate department. Please be aware that we are not able to accommodate all requests for campus visits.
