Sapporo is linked by air from Haneda Airport to New Chitose Airport (1 hr. 30 min.) New Chitose Airport can be reached from the city center by JR rail service (30 min.) or highway bus (approx.60 min.)

Asahikawa is a 1 hr. 40 min. flight from Haneda Airport, or 1 hr. 20 min. by rail from Sapporo on JR L Express.
