Course of Integrated Design Studies
People today lead diverse lifestyles and there is a growing need for more individuality and a higher-quality living environment. The issues facing society include the effective use of resources that gives consideration to the environment, as well as housing environments and urban planning appropriate for our aging society. The design course aims to turn out people who can solve such problems and contribute to the creation of a harmonious living environment. It promotes research relating to the environment and morphogenesis, systematized and theoretical expression, and explores advanced creative technologies.
There are four courses including "Product Design" that pursues the functionality and significance of the shape of "Articles" such as the tools and equipment in our daily lives, "Space Design" that focuses on architecture and interiors such as in houses, stores, and public facilities, "Environmental Design" that harmonizes living spaces including exteriors such as a residential areas, parks, and roads with nature, and "Communications Art" that considers the visual information design field including digital design, graphics design, etc. and the arts field such as visual art and plastic design.
