School of Information & Design Engineering

EVENING STUDY OF LEADING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY AT A CENTRALLY LOCATED CAMPUS
Enrollment of new students has been suspended as of academic year 2010.

Area : Tokyo | Campus : Yoyogi
Evening Sessions

This school was established with the aim of providing students of relatively limited means and who are already working with the opportunity to partake in higher education by offering evening classes. With the growing diversity of work patterns, the last few years have seen an increase in the number of young people seeking more flexible lesson times, of workers who want to study the latest scientific technology at university and utilize it in their workplaces, and of middle-aged and elderly workers wanting to re-train and change the area in which they work. Students from all walks of life can not only pursue their studies at the school, but can also gain invaluable experience that they can apply to their own lives. Teaching staff include full-time professors as well as professors of science and engineering from the Shonan campus, so as to maintain the same standard of scholastic achievement as the daytime courses. The same emphasis is placed on education and character building as in the other undergraduate schools. Recent years have seen an increase in the number of students choosing to go on to graduate school so as to acquire more advanced specialized knowledge.

Department of Network and Computer Engineering

To produce engineers who can play a leading role in the current information age, students in this department study information communications based on networks, computer-based data processing, techniques for combining information communications and computers, and leading-edge technologies that are closely linked to lifestyles.

Department of Architectural Design

Students in this department study the theory and technology of architectural design. The curriculum is organized so that students first master the general formative skills that they will need to be able to rise to the demands of society and the environments in which humans live. Then, from the fourth year, two courses are offered: Architecture and the Environment, and Conservation and Repair.
