After working at a fever pitch, the car to be used in the Le Mans race is finally complete - and the finished product can now be revealed. As the long-awaited final chapter of the project nears, the realization of the dreams of so many is just a step away.

Applications are now being accepted for Tokai University Le Mans Project Student Boosters, an organization founded by Shigefumi Matsuzawa, governor of Kanagawa Prefecture. Application fees will be used for transportation, lodging and other expenses that directly benefit students participating in the Le Mans Project. To help attract applicants to Tokai University Le Mans Project Student Boosters, six well-known personalities have graciously lent their support.

The Tokai University Le Mans Assistance Commission is seeking the support of donors to sponsor student research activities for the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

It was officially announced today that Tokai University will compete in the 76th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The team’s name will be TOKAI UNIV. YGK POWER, and the car number will be 22. In the previous 75 runnings of the race, there has never been a university team; this year marks the first time a university has ever competed. Currently, students participating in the Tokai University Le Mans Project are busy with research, development and assembly of the car to be used in the race. From now until race day, the car will be continuously refined through test runs and special training to improve the technological skills of participating students.
